Tyler McKenzie is a multi-hyphenate artist and educator who spent nearly eight years with Hamilton: The Musical, holding down roles as Universal Swing, Dance Captain, and an original ensemble member of the Philip Company. His stage credits also include Broadway and national tours of Matilda and Mamma Mia. Originally from Long Island, Tyler earned his BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Carolina University, where he was honored with the Young Alumni Award—recognized for his artistic distinction, community impact, and leadership potential. Offstage, Tyler is all about passing it on. A dedicated mentor and educator, he’s taught across the country and served on multiple faculties, including Penn State’s Musical Theatre program. He brings curiosity, joy, and rigor into every room he enters. Tyler is based in Chicago with his husband and splits time between the city and their home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC.
